Believe It Or Nuts.

How do scientists actually work things out? Obviously, experiments will give them a lot of answers, but some things just cannot be known about; or can they???

Here are a few rather bizarre examples. Read through them and then tell me how anyone can know whether they are true (scientist or not!). These are genuine facts (they have not been lifted from a comedy workshop ,) and they can all be checked online. -

· We actually see everything upside down. It is only after our brain does some correction, that we see things properly.

· A goldfish has an incredibly bad memory; it will forget everything by the time it swims from one end of its tank to the other (the average time estimated is three seconds).

· Cats see everything in black and white with a tint of blue.

· Elephants know when they are going to die.

· A male emperor moth can smell a female emperor moth up to 7 miles away.

· If you place a small amount of alcohol on a scorpion, then it will
instantly go mad and sting itself to death.

· By raising your legs slowly and lying on your back, you cannot sink into quicksand.

· When bats fly out of a cave they always turn left.

· Men can read smaller print then women can; but women have better hearing!

· The only fish that can blink with both eyes at once is a shark.

· Globally, chickens outnumber human beings.

· It is possible to lead a cow upstairs, but downstairs is an impossibility.

· Less than 2% of the water on our planet is actually fresh.
